Hello, how do I decide when I should use a footnote or an in-text citation?

The choice of whether to use a footnote or in-text citation would depend on which citation style you are using. At WAB we use MLA8 which has in-text citation.

Footnotes typically only used for Oxford, Chicago and Turabian styles.
